This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
SFUSD stopped providing snacks to students to fuel them during the day. It is up to teachers to figure out how to provide a healthy snack that will give them brain power and fill their tummies to get them through the long school day. My first graders count on me to provide them a healthy snack every day so they won't go hungry and will be able to focus and learn. My students don't eat lunch until noon and our school day starts at 8:40am. I work in a Title I school where most families are living at or below the poverty line. Being able to provide my 22 students a snack ensures they can focus and feel ready to learn and be able to take in the content I will teach. Please help fund this project so my first graders won't go hungry during the school day!
