This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a dynamic group of kids who are always looking for ways to learn new things about technology. They come to the classroom filled with humor and laughter and creative minds. More than a positive attitude, these kids come to my classroom often tired of dealing with social issues beyond their control. They often ask if I have food or anything to drink and some basic sanitary supplies. They tell me it's hard for them to concentrate when they have not had anything to eat from home, and it's hard for them to socialize when they know other people avoid them because they have not had a decent bath in a long time.

My Project

My students will benefit from having Sunchips variety snacks, Danish cheese and Big Texas cinnamon rolls because it will help them become more focused, alert,and attentive in the classroom. Having something to eat helps them retain more information and gives them more energy. There will be more students encouraged to do better in the classroom because they will be given snacks to eat while they are doing their work. They will also be allowed to bring some more snacks home to share with their family and friends as many of them are in homeless shelters an are also very much in need of these supplies.
