Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school serves a high percentage of homeless and foster youth, immigrant students, and other underprivileged youth. We are motivating our students to earn their credits and push them to graduate by rewarding credit completion with snacks. This greatly encourages social and emotional learning, along with promoting mental health. We are providing a safe and encouraging environment for our students who don't have the opportunity to always receive that, outside of school. We are encouraging our students to stay on the right path and be their cheerleaders to success beyond high school. My goal is to have my students complete a minimum of 2 credits per week, in exchange for one snack per credit. With hopes they will surpass our 25 credit per semester minimum and reach their goal of high school graduation. We are confident with our guidance and support they will reach this goal, and more.
