This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school focuses on making sure our students embody all the qualities that first-class leaders possess. In doing so, we refer to our students as scholars. It's all about the mindset! My 5th-grade scholars come in with smiles on their faces ready to make the best of each day. I teach scholars from all different cultural backgrounds who require various learning styles in order to be successful. Many of these scholars have challenges at home that can weigh heavily, but they know we as educators are there to support them in whatever is thrown their way. I believe regardless of all these factors every scholar should be able to learn to their greatest extent. My scholars are told every morning that they matter and it is my goal to ensure that they never forget that!

This project will provide snacks-chips and cheese puffs as well as Gatorade for the entire class of 2023 as they celebrate their successes and years of hard work with an end-of-year BBQ!

All students who participated in PBIS will be able to attend and be recognized. These snacks will also be used when students are hungry in class and need a snack to make it through to our late lunch. This will help them focus on their learning.

My students matter and we want to make sure they understand just how special they are!
