Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are part of a small knit community in the South Bronx, District 7. Demographically, District 7 is one of the lowest socioeconomic districts in the country. I am hoping to provide students with a snack as they begin the rigorous task of preparing for this year’s state tests. Each day, students will engage in honing in their critical thinking and comprehension skills during the ELA practice portion of the day and then swiftly transition into our math state prep. As my students will diligently work towards achieving their goals of a 3 or 4 on their state test, they deserve the opportunity to enjoy a small snack as an incentive to help them work towards success. Please make my classroom dream a reality and allow my students to enjoy delicious snacks as they work towards success.
