My Project
As a middle school teacher, I have learned that snacks are a great part of their day. Middle schoolers would benefit from snacks throughout their school day for two reasons: to help with hunger and as a positive motivating tool.
As we strive to support students' overall well-being and academic success, hunger can be a significant distraction for students.
If a child goes without food for an extended period, they may experience difficulty focusing on lessons, become restless, or even disengage from class discussions. Regular snacks ensure that students aren't distracted by hunger, allowing them to participate fully in their learning experience.
Snacks can also be used as a positive motivator. Providing snacks as a reward for good behavior, participation, or effort in schoolwork can encourage students to stay on task and engage more deeply in their learning. When students know that positive actions—such as completing assignments or staying focused in class—will be rewarded with a small treat, they are more likely to demonstrate those behaviors consistently.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. My students love being able to pick from the snack bin, especially after a great class period.
