it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As speech therapists working with children in schools for people with disabilities, we understand the importance of parent involvement in their child's education. We want to help parents of our students become more involved by providing informational workshops that will help them better understand the needs of their children.
Students and parents will benefit from the activities by implementing reading and writing into their daily living by applying the strategies shared in the workshops.
To make these workshops more engaging and impactful, we would like to provide snacks and materials for the attending parents. This would include refreshments such as water, coffee, and snacks, as well as materials for hands-on activities. We believe that by providing these materials, parents will be more likely to attend and participate in the workshops, and we can help them better support their children's education.
This funding will cover the cost of snacks, materials, and workshop supplies for approximately 20-30 parents per workshop. We plan to hold several workshops over the course of the year, depending on the level of interest and availability of parents.
