Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help my school to create a snack and food pantry for hungry students in order to not be hungry. When they are hungry they cannot concentrate. Many of my students babysit younger siblings and give up their food to their siblings. They come to school hungry and frustrated.

The breakfast bars, chips, fruit snacks, candy, crackers, cups of noodles and various snacks will help feed the students who come into school hungry or who are hungry through out the day.

The other snacks will help my students keep going throughout the day. By not being hungry they can concentrate, learn and have fun. So by providing the snacks you help them thrive and reach the stars.

Our school is a Title I-funded school, a school with a high percentage of students from low-income families. Additionally, our school has a large population of ELLs (English language learners), which means they are trying to learn the English language while also attempting to meet the expectations of the state Standards set for all high school students across the state, regardless of background.
