Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a group of curious, joyful people. They enjoy being at school and are eager to share in class. Every day, they show respect, are responsible, and are safe. They are wonderful students and will be even better adults. They need your support, now more than ever.
These students are in a unique position, in that they are all in a bilingual program, receiving half of their instruction in English, and a half in Spanish.
They are persevering and working hard toward bi-literacy to put themselves in a better position for their futures. It is exciting to see how much they grow every day, both academically and personally!
My Project
The snacks will make a difference in my students’ learning by helping them stay focused and motivated to succeed. The light covers will help create a calming space for students to be comfortable and unbothered by the bright fluorescent lights of the classroom.
The transition from remote to in person learning has been a challenge for all of us and these snacks will help my students continue to have their needs met in the classroom.
When they are not hungry, they are happier and more eager to work hard. When they are calm, they are willing to take risks. We have a lot of ground to make up after missing so much in person learning, but with your help, we will get there.
