Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students work hard all day and having a snack pantry where they can pick up a snack to help them move beyond their mid-morning or mid-day slump is extremely important to their learning.
This snack pantry has been a source of comfort for many of my students and others in my school whom I do not directly teach.
Witnessing the smiles on their faces as they leave my room with a bag of snacks has been a significant motivation for me to continue operating this snack pantry. It also greatly contributes to showing my students that I care not only about their grades but also about their well-being.
