My Students

My school is a low-income, urban school in Baltimore City. I have an amazing group 1st grade students who are working daily to be independent learners. These students are given the chance to build critical literacy, math and social-emotional skills in an early childhood center environment.

My classroom is a space where all students come to explore, learn, create and grow.

I want to instill independence by giving students opportunities to work closely with each other and form learning spaces. I work to meet the needs of all my students and give them learning opportunities that fit their learning styles and needs.

My Project

My students need these essential supplies in our classroom for everyday use. I plan to use all the cleaning supplies to keep our bodies and supplies clean. I want teach students about hygiene and the importance of having a clean classroom and clean hands. We will take care of our classroom ad clean up messes with the broom and sanitizing wipes.

Students need to be cared and healthy to create the best learning environment.

We will have classroom snacks daily to get a boost of energy and keep learning! I would be so happy to be able to provide these for my students; it makes them feel cared for and loved. I also know that healthy eating is essential for a healthy mind. They really need these supplies in order to re-energize and continue to grow and learn. I really believe learning occurs when children are cared for, are healthy, fit, and well fed. These snacks and cleaning supplies will allow me to do that!

By providing these daily life essentials my students will be focused and ready to learn. Sometimes it is the simplest things that make the biggest difference. Snacks, washing our hands, and taking care of our classroom are easy wins and just what they need! It will improve my classroom by my students not being hungry and knowing that they deserve and can have essential supplies just by asking. Healthy bodies create healthy minds!
