My Students
My school is a low-income, urban school in Baltimore City. I have an amazing group of 1st-grade students who are working daily to be independent learners. These students are given the chance to build critical literacy, math, and social-emotional skills in an early childhood center environment.
My classroom is a space where all students come to explore, learn, create, and grow.
I want to instill independence by giving students opportunities to work closely with each other and form learning spaces. I work to meet the needs of all my students and give them learning opportunities that fit their learning styles and needs.
My Project
My students need daily snacks to keep us learning. Students will really benefit from being able to add extra nourishment in their day. Full stomachs and brains ready to keep getting smarter!
My students need these snacks for nourishment each day in order for our brains to keep growing.
We will have classroom snacks daily to get a boost of energy and keep learning! I would be so happy to be able to provide these for my students; it makes them feel cared for and loved. Sometimes it is the simplest things that make the biggest difference. Snacks are an easy win and just what they need! Everyday my students get hungry in the afternoon and a lot of the families are not able to provide snacks for the class. I know that healthy eating is essential for a healthy mind. They really need these supplies in order to re-energize and continue to grow and learn. I really believe learning occurs when children are cared for, are healthy, fit, and well fed. These snacks will allow me to do that!
