My Students

We attend a kindergarten center that is located in a rural area with high poverty. We LOVE hands-on, interactive, kinesthetic learning activities. We are always on the move and there isn't much time for slowing down around here. In our kindergarten classroom, it is a great time in life for students to start learning about how to be autonomous! Learning new skills in all areas of life and growing is what we do best.

My Project

Here at the Ozark Kindergarten Center, we go to a FULL DAY of classes! We have so much fun learning and growing, but my students' little bellies get hungry! A full day of learning will make anyone work up an appetite! I try to give my students a snack every day in the afternoon before they head home for the day! It helps them to be happy, comfortable, and ready to learn until the very last minute together. It also makes me feel better knowing they will leave with a full stomach before they head home for the night. It's hard to tell if students have proper nutrition at home, so every little bit helps. I also use these snacks to send home weekend care bags for my students who may need extra help to get through the long weekend. It's so important to meet our students' basic needs every day in any way that we can!
