This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher you hear it every day, "Do you have any food/snacks?" It pains me when I don't have a positive response or I just ran out of snacks I tried to provide with my OWN money!
My students have the longest school day in the city, going straight from 8am to 5pm with only ONE eating break!
We have had challenges with our lunch service provider resulting in situations where the cafeteria food either runs out or is of poor quality to sustain our students for this many hours. My students are great about sharing with each other but, unfortunately, a lot of what they have to give to each other is not enough. Help me help students stay focused and able to finish their days with something in their stomachs!
