Snack for Hungry Teens & Keeping Their Classroom Clean, Too!

Help me give my students snacks (they are always starving and I cannot keep a big enough stock out of my own pocket), pencils (always a necessity), and COVID supplies (tissues, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes).

My Students

I love what I do. I love the experiences that happen in my classroom. Every day is something new. Kids always surprise me. My favorite moment is when a student doesn't understand something, but then they work a little more at it until they have that "aha" moment and everything makes sense.

COVID has certainly made education a struggle.

This year has even been more difficult than before. All of our students are back in person, which is nice, but they seem to have forgotten how school works. Kids are struggling to learn the material at grade level. They often have lots of trauma or stresses outside of school impacting their learning. Plus, they just have a huge disconnection to education that is a daily struggle for teachers to try to mend.

My Project

This year has been very difficult. On top of student learning, the kids in my room are always hungry. I often buy granola bars and fruit snacks out of my own pocket. Sometimes our school will supply us with a Zip-loc bag of snacks every 4-5 weeks, but it is never enough. Kids come to my room knowing that I have snacks and I can never keep them filled.

I also usually spend my own money or my legislative supply funds on tissues, cleaning supplies, and pencils.

This would greatly help me and my students to keep our classroom stocked and safe.
