This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I provide services for children of various grades with speech and language impairments in grades kindergarten through eighth grade in an inner-city, public school in New York City. Each one of my students has individual goals ranging from improvements in vocabulary, writing, reading, cognition, stuttering, and speech articulation. My students and their families lack the resources required for academic, speech, and language improvements. I try my best to provide these resources to help them succeed in school and to improve their self-esteem.

My Project

Please help provide my students with healthy snacks and cups for water. Many students come to school hungry each day. It is impossible to concentrate and learn when you are hungry and thirsty. By providing various snack options, like apple cause, peanut butter crackers, etc. to my students, I can help alleviate their basic needs, so I can target their educational needs. No one should be expected to learn and follow directions when they are hungry. When students have a full belly and feel supported they are willing to take academic risks and make educational strides.
