This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A growling stomach can be a distraction to a hungry student as well as to his/her peers. Often times students come to school with an empty stomach which can interfere with their learning. School lunch portions do not always fill the appetite of a growing child.

The addition of a snack cart would be ideal for our classroom!

My students will have access to snacks to help keep them engaged without hunger. This in addition to a few hygiene and cleaning supplies will promote functional skills. The snack cart will teach students to be responsible by only asking for snacks when necessary, cleaning up after themselves, as well as helping restock supplies. Students will also benefit from improving their communication skills and manners.
