This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
When you think about students who have a strong desire to be the best, think about my students. They are inspiring individuals who come from places that aren't always ideal. Adversity is the foundation of the life they stand on, but they persevere.
Our students struggle with poverty, homelessness, employment, transportation, and language barriers, but in spite of all of this, they show up to school.
Our school administrators and teachers work very hard to try to make sure our students receive everything they need. Every student receives a free breakfast and lunch daily. I would also like to provide my students with some snacks to give their brains a boost and help with learning throughout the school day. In addition to providing the basic needs of our students, we try to incorporate a variety of social-emotional interventions on a daily basis. This helps my students with the various challenges they face daily, such as self-esteem, bullying, and communicating their emotions. These will be especially beneficial during our Lunar New Year unit and celebration!
