My Students
My students live in impoverished areas of the city. More than 95% of my students receive government assistance. Some students come to school hungry and without the bare necessities for class. Numerous students have to walk to and from school, even if they live a mile away from the school.
Additionally, all students don’t have an opportunity to dwell in an environment that appealing to their senses.
However, students are still eager to learn and they yearn for a better life. My goal is to provide students with everything that they need to succeed.
My Project
After teaching for nearly twenty-six years, I understand, if a child is hungry, he/she may not be able to focus on the lesson that is being taught at the time. Some of my students have to eat at school, because food is scarce at home. Hence, I have always shared whatever food I have in my class with students.
If a child has a healthy snack, he/she may be able to focus better in class and the students’ attention won't be focused on being hungry.
I have always placed emphasis on teaching the "whole child".
