My Students

I teach at a low-income school in Mississippi. All of our students receive free lunch. My students come to me with a variety of needs, both academic and social-emotional. My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! My students absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

My Project

My kindergarten students receive a snack twice a day to keep them energized and engaged. I give them a snack in the morning because some of my students come to school late and haven't had breakfast. The second snack is given to them before they go home because some students might not eat anything when they leave school. I try my best to provide them with daily snacks, some of which they like and some of which they need. Providing my students with snacks will give my students the energy and nourishment they need to become successful students.
