Help me keep our students with autism focused and energized throughout the day by providing a variety of snacks to use as motivation, reward, and nourishment.
Every student deserves a good snack.
Our school not only provides snack time for our students, but we also participate in a verbal behavior program that relies heavily on reinforcers throughout the day. Reinforcers such as M&M's and chips help provide the students with a goal to stay focused and complete a task.
Unfortunately, not all students come to school with snacks so this would be beneficial to them as well. There comes a point in the day when we need to slow learning and stop for a break. A snack provides this break while also enabling the students to obtain some more fuel for their brains to make it through to lunch. This will help us to achieve both these goals.
