My Students
My classroom is the second home for over 160 amazing individuals! My scholars enjoy having gym once or twice within the week. During those times it is a privilege to interact with these 160 different personalities. They are able to let their true self come out each and every day!
My children all come from different challenging circumstances including being homeless, displacement, and abuse.
While being exposed to those challenges and having special needs, it sometimes gets difficult for them to cope.
These students rely on me to make our gym time comforting, safe and inviting place where they can continue to learn and thrive. Providing them with the tools such as food, drinks, and equipment can help create a more comfortable space.
My Project
I've requested snacks that will be accessible to my special needs students throughout the day. Most of my students are picky and do not eat school lunch throughout the day. Because I am in a self-contained class I am requesting these drinks and snacks to give to them when they express the need for something to fill their bellies with.
Many of my students are also in homeless shelters or displaced throughout the school year.
This gives them an opportunity to have snacks and drinks that they can also can bring home with them. Please help me to provide them with this basic need that many of us take for granted.
