My Project
Students missed out on a lot of science lessons and activities while in elementary school during the pandemic. Now I am tasked with helping fill in the gap while trying to help them fall in love with science. The majority of students prefer hands-on science tasks over reading about a science concept in a textbook. While reading scientific material is an important skill, learning can be enriched and more meaningful to students by adding a hands-on component to the lessons. PocketLab sensors empower students to experiment with the many forces of nature. Motivation will be high when students have access to the tools to design their own hands-on projects testing speed, temperature, light, pressure, sound, and magnetism. These portable sensors can measure data and provide my students with immediate feedback, which will hopefully increase their motivation to gain a solid understanding of scientific concepts.
