This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach over 700 students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade at two Title I schools. My students live in a rural part of South Carolina and come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. This project would support the students at both of my schools.
My students are creative, smart, and eager to have hands-on learning activities that will prepare them to become 21st-century learners.
I want all of my students to have the opportunity to create artwork with all the materials they need and provide them with a fun, engaging, and hands-on learning environment.
My Project
The project materials will be used to complete two outstanding projects in the art room. First, I am requesting wood filler and ready strip paint remover so I can complete scrapping, sanding and fixing our art room tables. Our tables desperately need all of the holes and gouges filled in. This is a project I began earlier in the school year, but we need more supplies to fix all 6 tables.
The gorilla glue is so students can complete bottle top murals in the coming school year.
Students spend 2019-2020 collecting 1,000's of bottle tops but unfortunately the school year ended prematurely last year. My goal is to start next school year off with bottle top murals for our school. The gorilla glue will be used to secure the bottle tops to canvas and wood.
