My Students
My students melt my heart with their kindness towards others and motivation to work hard. Many of them are being raised in single parent households or with a grandparent. Almost all receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. They have already dealt with things at age 7 that many of us will never have to deal with. Each morning they walk in and greet me with a handshake, hug or high five and they are eager to get their day started.
My Project
Since students will soon be heading home for the summer, I want to make sure that they have what they need. I know they will have breakfast and lunch available through the school. Since they won't be seeing me each morning for some wipes to wash up with, I want to make sure that they can take care of their personal hygiene while on break. Giving them a supply bag with some bars soap and a few wash cloths will give them what they need to wash themselves. And giving them a toothbrush and toothpaste will give them what they need for their oral hygiene.
