My students need supplies including a pencil sharpener, bulletin borders, staplers and hole punchers to keep their classroom running smoothly and efficiently!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Over half of my students are second language learners and over eighty percent of them receive free or reduced lunch. As these students receive instruction in English, many of them are balancing the difficult task of learning English at the same time as learning grade level standards. In addition to this balancing act some of my students walk into the classroom counting on the meals that are served at school. Although my students walk into our school/classroom with hardships that they cannot control they have a desire to learn. With this desire they find confidence within themselves to be resilient in life.
My Project
There are so many ways these supplies will make a difference in the students' learning and improve their school lives.
From a new stapler, hole puncher, and markers to a new pencil sharpener, scissors, and tape we will be able to make sure the business side of education is taken care of and we become smooth operators.
The teachers and students will take less time organizing materials and put more time back into the learning and the education the students deserve. These supplies will also teach students organization skills because they will be responsible for turning in their assignments, stapling their work, sharpening their pencils, and so much more!
