My Students

This is my fifth year at a high needs school in the school district of Philadelphia. Our school is located in a high poverty area; therefore, we do not have as many resources and supplies. School this year will be VERY different as an educator and for the students. I moved to kindergarten after being in second grade for 4 years! The home life that most of my students live in is not easy, and they have to worry about when they will eat again, where they will sleep, etc. This project would help my students be able to learn in an environment where they can forget about what is going on in the outside world and feel safe and enjoy school. These supplies will add to our classroom and make them excited and eager to learn!

My Project

This year is very different for many people in so many ways. School was always a place I made sure to give my students structure, love, and support! Virtual teaching has its challenges, but no matter what my students come on every day with smiles and ready to learn!

This is my first year teaching kindergarten, and it is so inspiring to see these kids work so hard and become so independent in such a short amount of time!

I will be dropping off all of these supplies (pencils, crayons, notebooks, etc.) to the students’ houses so they can practice and learn "in the classroom" and become better readers and writers for the future!
