My Students
I am a first & second grade teacher in New Jersey’s second largest urban school district. I "loop" with the same group of children and teach them for two years. My classroom is a culturally diverse community of learners. My students are like sponges for knowledge. Despite any extraordinary circumstances they have faced or are facing, they attend school regularly and are passionate about learning. Due to the recent pandemic, we are unsure of what "back to school" will look like and I am preparing for some aspect of remote learning to help my students be as successful as possible.
My Project
The materials in this project will help me deliver quality remote instruction to my students as needed. I am requesting materials to improve the quality of remote instruction, such as an easel to help me model lessons, magnetic letters for phonics and spelling instruction, pocket charts for whole group lessons, and a ring light so that the quality of my video will be improved.
Over the course of our 2020 remote learning, much of the work was assigned through a paper and pencil packet--I am determined to improve the quality of remote instruction provided to my students by acquiring the tools I need to teach "live" lessons.
With these materials, I will be able to establish a mini-teaching space to work from.
