This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach twenty-three highly motivated first grade students in an inner city TITLE I school. More than 80% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are eager to learn and are interested in such a wide variety of things from animals to transportation!
My students are particularly interested in animals. We have two class pets and would love to photograph them as they grow and change throughout the year. With cuts to the education budget, a digital camera is not feasible!
The students also enjoy when their picture goes up on the bulletin board with their work. I've been using my own very old camera and the photos are not coming out as clearly as they once did.
We need a Panasonic digital camera to document our class pets as they grow. We'll be growing mealworms and watching them change into pupas and then beetles. We want to document this in photographs.
Of course, the generous donors on the DonorsChoose web-site will also benefit from clarity of the photographs!
Your kindness will allow my class to have the benefit of a digital camera to document their class pets and our upcoming mealworm life cycle observation.
