My Students
As a veteran teacher at a Title 1 school located in a low-income/high-poverty community, I am well aware of the many challenges that my students face every day, both in and outside of the classroom. I am also aware of their enthusiasm for learning, their tremendous potential for high achievement, and their brilliant creativity.
My students shine brightest when they work creatively and collaboratively.
They demonstrate great pride in their work, celebrating their growth and improvement while challenging themselves and each other to exceed expectations.
My Project
My students love shooting video and creating films in my Music & Media class. We have successfully used video to document the learning process, record student reflections, and strengthen skills related to collaboration, communication, and expressiveness.
Our plan to expand the use of video in our class with the introduction of a student-led school news program, providing my students with the experience of producing high-quality films in a real-world setting that will include our entire school and connect with our community in a meaningful manner.
Students will learn the skills required to plan, produce, edit, and distribute a news program using the requested Ansteker 4K camcorder with an external microphone and wide angle lens. The camcorder package will also provide us with resources for creating short films and documentaries which we would love to submit to our city's annual independent film festival!
There are numerous creative educational applications for the Ansteker 4K camcorder package. We look forward to exploring all of them while developing transferable skills and enjoying positive experiences along the way.
