Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach hospitalized students who are passionate about learning, many of whom are battling serious illnesses like cancer and sickle cell anemia. Despite these challenges, they continue to work hard every day. I want to support their efforts by providing small rewards that keep them motivated and help them feel celebrated.

The items I’m requesting—smelly markers, scented pencils, and fragrant stickers—will be used as incentives for students who complete assignments, show improvement, or achieve milestones.

Many of my students love sensory experiences, and the scents will bring a little joy and positivity to their day, making learning more enjoyable and rewarding.

These sensory rewards will give my students a tangible way to celebrate their hard work and progress, even in difficult circumstances. They’ll help boost morale, encourage continued effort, and provide a sense of normalcy and fun. These small incentives will remind students that their achievements matter, and they’re worth celebrating.
