My Students

This year, my students are from a mix of grades! During physical education, it is their time to shine in a different way in school, through physical activity. It's a way for students to see their skills outside of the the classroom.

Many of my students are from low-income households and live in small, cramped, and crowded spaces.

There is not much green space or large safe spaces for them to run around and play in. Physical Education class gives them the chance to grow in a way they often could not outside of school. In order to get my students up and moving, I need materials that cater to their size, growth, and development. This includes athletic equipment and basic life needs like snacks, sneakers, and clothing items.

My Project

This donation is mainly for my older students. Growing up is difficult, especially those early pre-teen and teenage years when you're unsure of yourself and still trying to figure things out. My students come to me all the time for hygiene projects; but the biggest one they ask for is deodorant. Either they have none at home, or they are too embarrassed to ask for things they need at home. However, they have no problem asking me, and I'm happy that they trust me enough; I just want to be able to provide for them. A little bit of confidence goes a long way at these ages, and I want to be able to continue to be there for my students.
