Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What do I love about my students? I get to hear them talk to one another, run and play with one another, but most importantly, I get to teach them in person and smell them after recess. I have not been able to do that since the Pandemic. Last year it was "social distancing" and kids were afraid to even breathe. Now that they are more comfortable, they resume "normalcy" in a post pandemic setting.

I like the cohesiveness and relation trust we have established since we met.

The comfort is now there and visible. Kids are engaged in kids play and carelessness that hasn't been seen for the past few years. I'm a huge advocate for kids being kids and running and playing. Frequent movement is encouraged in my class, we even do morning and afternoon stretches.

The resources requested will allow students to embrace their changing bodies with pride and ease. No student should be embarrassed to ask their parent for deodorant. If so, there is a safe space where they can ask for personal care items discretely in a non threatening environment.
