My students need a smartboard and clicker systems.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. David's classroom raised $5,978

I teach 4th grade at a Title I school that is located in South Louisiana. I have wonderful students in my class who love to learn. My school is very dynamic and all of our fourth grade teachers work together to make one-on-one and tactile learning possible for our students.
4th grade is a high-stakes testing year. The children prepare all year for the LEAP test and they must pass it to move on to 5th grade. I strive to find new classroom technology to make learning fun for my students. I was trained on SmartBoards in college and have always dreamed of having one in my classroom.
Here is what is so awesome about SMART Board technology: SMART Board combines the simplicity of a whiteboard and the power of a computer with a SMART Board interactive whiteboard. SMART Board interactive whiteboards bring interactivity to any environment – and most of all, they make it easy.
Touch control makes everything easier. The Touch Recognition feature offers even more convenience by allowing you to write with a pen, erase with your palm and move objects with your finger without picking up extra tools. Pick up a blue pen and write notes in blue. Pick up a black pen and write notes in black. The Pen Tray automatically detects which tool you’ve selected! Buttons on the Pen Tray also allow you to activate the On-Screen Keyboard and access the right-click and help functions.
You can also capture your work to SMART Notebook software as a screen shot that you can edit. You can save notes directly to file formats compatible with a variety of applications, including AutoCAD® and Microsoft® PowerPoint®, Excel® and Word.
With Notebook software, you can easily create, teach and manage interactive lessons within a single application.
From the control panel, you can start the projector and interactive whiteboard with a single button and switch between other connected devices, such as laptops, DVD players and document cameras: my ELMO!!! The projector is simple to install and easy to maintain because it doesn’t need a filter.
The clickers are the best part! Each child gets a clicker that is instantly interactive and shows their answers on screen simultaneously! The ergonomic design fits comfortably in young hands or lie flat on a desk, the remote has 21 input buttons that make responding to questions quick and easy! AMAZING! It has an LCD screen that is easy to read and has room to display three lines of text. Students can scroll through questions and find out instantly if their responses have been sent. Icons on the LCD screen allow students to monitor the battery power and network status of their remote. This is a technological miracle for classrooms!
My students have dreams of college and understand that an education is their way to success. I strive to build relationships with my parents so they know that I will mentor their children throughout their lives, not just in 4th grade. I love my students and it is important to me that they succeed not only in 4th grade, but in life.
In the last 4 years I have spent over $4000 of my own money buying uniforms, shoes, eyeglasses, and other things that my students need. I try to care for each child as I would my own children. This grant would go far in helping the children learn. Thank you so much for your kind consideration of my request.
