My Students
My students range in age from freshman to seniors, each coming to my class with different backgrounds, learning styles, and needs.
One thing they all bring to my room is a sense of community.
I want my kids to not only learn the standards I am required to teach but also learn important life skills they will need beyond high school. We work hard together to take pride in the work accomplished in my classroom.
My students may not always be eager to learn about World History, but they are always willing to work hard, to support each other, and to be inquisitive thinkers of the world around them. Together we discuss, debate, and grow in understanding of the history content I teach and the connection to today's society.
My Project
Having a Smart TV and wall mount in my classroom will allow students to share and present their digital work with their classmates. Not only will I be able to facilitate instruction in a more effective, digital way, my students will also have the opportunity to collaborate and share their work through presentation via a Smart TV. Being a 1:1 iPad classroom, my AP and Honors students are often required to complete a variety of digital projects. I would love to give my students a better opportunity to collaborate and share these projects with their peers. By having a Smart TV in my classroom, my students would be able to project their projects from their individual iPads to present and share with their classmates.
As a high school history teacher, I value the importance of using technology to enrich my students' understanding and engagement in classroom lessons.
By getting this project funded, I would be able to enhance the lessons I give my students by using technology to make content more engaging and meaningful.
