My students bring something fun and exciting to school with them each and every day. Even though each of their needs are very different, all of my students have a love for learning.
My students are exceptional and unique.
They are great kids who deserve to have these learning experiences. They are interested in so many opportunities to learn in many different ways and best of all they are excited about it! My students take great interest when the environment around them is engaging and exciting. This is the environment I am trying to build in my classroom to promote learning and positive behavior.
My Project
A productive sensory table allows students to take charge of their learning! They are able to make choices, discover, investigate, and observe in order to learn with real life hands on activities! During center time students choose which center they could like to work at based on interest. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations and my goal is to make science and the sensory learning area a more exciting and interesting to my students! I have noticed amazing conversations and learning take place at the center when students are engaged and interested! I would like to provide my students with hands on, problem solving, exciting learning experiences at the sensory center!
When students are able to problem solve using their own techniques with hands on experiences and learning they become noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional opportunities to learn at the sensory center. Overall when students are engaged better learning takes place! All of the materials will be used in our sensory table, that is most of the time filled with water, because that is what is most cost efficient to use in our classroom. I would like to provide students with multiple materials to use, such as the floating blocks, letters, and numbers, at this center so they do not become easily disengaged.
I have seen how engagement can positively affect my students work and excitement to learn! I know that these materials will help my students grow into amazing problem solvers and science lovers!
