My Students

Imagine having a new toy and not being able to play with it. That's the case for my students, as over the summer, we were give a brand new SMART Board, but with NO SOFTWARE! I was able to create some simple activities, but they are nothing compared to the ones on the market today.

My students are bright, articulate and inquisitive second graders, who love technology and hands-on learning.

This is our second year together and we are off to a great start learning and growing together. We are only one of two classes at our school (25 classes total) blessed with a SMART Board and we want to be able to fully utilize the technology that comes with such a great tool. My students love interacting with our SMART Board and would really benefit from having exciting, and challenging new programs to work with.

My Project

The software titles I have selected will benefit the students in the core areas of Language Arts and Math. They will enhance the traditional paper/pencil learning found in most classes, by adding an exciting, hands-on approach, where every student is engaged and captivated in the learning. My students are so technologically savvy and this will add great excitement to their learning. I know that by being an active participant in their learning, the students will more quickly grasp and retain the concepts presented.

Technology is changing our world at such an incredible pace and my students have the opportunity to learn with one of the newest and most interactive tools out there.

However, we need math and language arts software to be able to utilize our SMART Board to its fullest capability. I know that by having ALL the proper tools--including this awesome software--it will help to make my SMART kids even SMARTer!!!
