I teach in a small rural community and the students have science class in a room that has one sink and no lab tables to conduct investigations at a higher level. Technology would allow them to investigate the world around them and complete simulation activities to promote higher level learning.
My students are located in a small community in a rural environment.
I have about 100 total junior high students including several special needs students. They enjoy hands-on science and working with teams of students solving problems and creating projects in the classroom.
My Project
My students would be able to investigate through the internet and complete simulation activities. Also, they could collect data for various investigations and analyze the data through the use of technology. These computers would allow them to look at the trends of their data and graph their results. These computers would also help my special needs students to be able to investigate and communicate through the use of technology.
I would like to have more technology in my classroom to help my students achieve at a higher level.
Since they are in a rural community with very little technology, they will be at a disadvantage when they begin to go into higher education. The technology would allow them experience the world outside of our rural community.
