Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We could really use basic supplies! A lack of funds means a decrease in spending. Unfortunately, many schools like ours can't afford ample quantities of things like pens, highlighters, post-it notes and tissues. These things can help make a big difference in student success.

I work at a low income, Title I school at which 100% of students qualify for free lunch.

Many of my students will be the first in their families to graduate from high school. Many of my students are college-bound, highly motivated, and hard working and dream of success.

My Project

It is amazing how the small things in life, like having a pen or highlighter, can help a student focus and feel ready to learn. That feeling of confidence in knowing you are ready and prepared in class can go a long way in helping students succeed. That is why I am asking for supplies for my classroom. Highlighters will help when we are reading articles, and Clorox wipes are necessary for clean up when are are doing projects. I hope that being able to provide things such as highlighters to my students helps improve morale and in turn student achievement. In addition, when we run out of tissues, students lose a lot of class time going to the restroom to blow their noses. It would really decrease class time that is lost if we had an adequate supply. Supplies such as a dust pan and broom will allow me to clean my classroom, since our custodial staff has been cut in half. My students will be able to master more standards if they have the basic supplies they need to succeed at school.

Your donations will make a big difference in my classroom.

Basic classroom supplies are hard to come by at my school and will truly help my students to succeed. We really appreciate your support of public education!
