This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is our 2nd year together working in a 5th-grade ICT classroom. At the beginning of last year, we chose to get rid of my teacher's desk in our classroom so I could optimize the space in my room to best support our student's learning experience. We wanted my students to have enough room for flexible seating, and grouped seating for small-group instruction. I wanted them to have all of this without having to struggle to get in and out of seats.
This year, we have found ourselves with 32 students, which provides us with even less space than last year!
We are considering removing our remaining teacher desk in exchange for 2 kidney tables so that they can be interchangeably used as a workspace for us, as well as a space where we can both conduct small group instruction. Removing the large, bulky teacher desks would allow for some space for kidney tables which, in turn, would provide us with some more space as we could offer more workspace for our students.
Donating to our project would help create an open and comfortable space for our students to work and succeed!
