My Project
I teach a vibrant and enthusiastic group of second graders in a Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion (VDLI) classroom. My students are bright, curious, and resilient. They come from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and many have limited access to learning tools at home. In our classroom, students learn in both English and Vietnamese every day. They are developing critical thinking skills, learning to collaborate, and expressing themselves confidently in two languages.
I’m requesting a Kidney-Shaped Write & Wipe Table to support small-group instruction in my dual classroom, where its unique design allows me to sit with several students at once and provide more targeted, differentiated support.
This table will transform how we learn by allowing students to write directly on the surface—giving them the freedom to draw, solve problems, and share ideas right where they sit. Whether we're building Vietnamese vocabulary, working through math strategies, or reflecting during reading groups, this table will provide students with a shared, interactive space to think, talk, and collaborate. Instead of relying on clipboards, small whiteboards, or paper, we’ll have a central hub for creativity, participation, and meaningful discussion.
The table I’m requesting is the Write & Wipe Mobile Group Table from Lakeshore Learning. Its durable dry-erase surface supports active learning and flexible group work. It will help students communicate in both languages and apply their learning in a hands-on way. This is more than furniture—it’s a tool to boost classroom engagement, dual language development, and essential 21st-century skills. Your support will help my students build confidence and strengthen their academic skills in ways that will serve them for years to come.
