This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom is made up of 18 amazing pre-K young learners who are curious, fun, and eager to explore. They enjoy coming to school to learn and play. Currently, we do not have a designated small group learning area. When it is time to work with a small group finding a focused space can get a little confusing since we do not have a specific work space. I want to make sure our students have a dedicated small group learning space in the classroom.
The materials in our project will provide our youngest learners with a dedicated group space for differentiated support to help build their basic skills.
Small group instruction can support our young students in developing cognitive and social emotional skills. Small group time is a part of our daily school life, so having a dedicated space will really be beneficial for my students. During this time students are encouraged to have conversations, and problem solve as they work together to achieve a shared learning goal. Small group instruction is where the "learning magic" happens. We work on specific skills that students need on a daily basis.
As you can see a small table, with comfortable seating and a rug can help us achieve our goal of creating a dedicated small group space for our youngest learners. I thank you, so much in advance for helping to support our students on their learning journey.
