Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My PreK-8th grade students are returning to the school library this fall after 3 years of very limited access, and they are so excited. As we start the school year, I want to establish organized, engaging small group literacy centers where students can work together to learn and create.
This project will allow students to celebrate their small-group learning and display the work they are proud of around.
Students will use basic supplies such as markers, scissors, etc. while learning and creating. The pouches, book covers, and hooks will help organize literacy center activities. The window film will allow students to learn without distractions from street traffic while also allowing natural light into the library. Cinder block walls are notoriously difficult to hang work on, so the specialized tape and velcro will enable student work to be displayed throughout the library space.
