Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The games, bins, incentives as well as the timers will help me with my small group areas. In my class, we have a mix of learners from Title I homes, ESE students, and ELL students. These students all have different backgrounds, but they all come from a very low proficiency in reading. During my first year of teaching, I noticed they respond better through small group activities as well as games.
With your help, I am able to provide the students with a fun small group center that caters to the learners' needs.
With the blue folders and the clear sheet protectors, the students are able to gather their results to keep track of everything they’ve done all year. They are also able to record the answers from the color photo bins which will be filled with the benchmark-related task cards.
The students will be able to know what their small group will be doing during the day because I will have cards and materials hanging from the hooks I have requested. Sometimes during small groups, we will also use the whiteboards I have but I don’t have enough Expo markers to go around the groups.
