My Students

My students attend a district in a small town in East Texas. They all share a love and passion for learning! Our district strives hard to provide our students with as many learning opportunities as it can, but with over half of my students coming from a low socioeconomic background the resources can be limited at times. My students enjoy and appreciate any and all learning opportunities they are given! My students come to me everyday ready to learn, and I strive to motivate them in as many positive ways as I can!

My Project

My students will be able to use the markers and sentence strips to practice their writing skills. In Kindergarten we do many Shared Writing lessons and these sentence strips with lines are perfect to have them practice letter formation and begin writing sentences. This project will also provide my students with dry erase boards and dry erase markers. The students can use these for every subject and even as a part of whole group lessons. Dry erase boards will be great when we split into groups and work on different skills in different stations such as number writing and writing addition and subtraction number sentences.

The best part of this project is that it will help so many students during many areas of their school day.

They will be able to become more independent as they explore small groups with these supplies.

I am also asking for some comfortable chairs to use as motivational tools. I anticipate that my students will become more engaged in the small group activities when they see some of these fun chairs to use while they work on their writing or when they are reading to each other. We also need plenty of storage bins and containers to store and turn in our assignments and supplies. I have asked for several different tubs so all of the students do not have to store their materials in the same area. This is going to cut down on everyone rushing to the same place at the same time when we begin our lessons and when we conclude. This will also save on time so we can spend more time learning nstead of wasting valuable time preparing for and cleaning up after lessons.
