My Students
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” - Dr. Seuss
This quote could not be more perfect for my elementary students with autism.
My classroom is made up of 3rd - 5th grade students. Each student in my classroom is not only at a different grade level, but also functions at a very different level than their classroom peers.
My Project
Because each student's academic needs are so diverse, we end up doing a lot of small group instruction for both math and literacy. The small group instruction allows for students to learn new concepts at their own pace and practice the skills their learning in a more supportive environment. The easel will allow for me to teach the students new concepts about math and literacy using visual representation.
There are many activities we will be able to add right away to our daily math and literacy instruction that will promote optimal learning.
My students are active learners that benefit from visual and tactile activities. This easel will help move us forward in literacy and math learning!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
