This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Reading and writing go hand in hand. Once our students gain more confidence in their reading abilities, they will become better writers. We are writers. Writers publish. Help make publishing more exciting for our students.
Our school is located in NY.
Our class has special education students, general education students, and students that receive ESL services. Many of our students have no outlet for expression outside of school. Help us help them!
Our students, of varying levels, need to master basic skills in reading to help them become skilled writers. Once they become skilled writers, we want to make publishing a really special time for them.
My Project
In this project, we are requesting small group reading kits for grades 1, 2, and 3. This will allow us to use the material this year and in future years with our students across different levels.
We are also requesting publishing material. Many of our students are starting their third year in school and have been publishing one piece per month every year. We really want to make publishing more exciting this year by offering different styles of publishing to our students.
Every child should be given the opportunity to express themselves and to feel successful.
All of the material we are requesting in this project will allow those things to happen. Please make it happen for our class and our students!
