My students are eager to learn! I have a class of 12 children who love to learn by engaging in hands-on experiences, technology, and socializing. We embrace the fact that half of my students are English language learners because the diversity promotes acceptance.
These second grade students come from low-income households and face obstacles that make it difficult to become academically successful.
I believe in my students because they are so motivated to become the change that they want to see in their communities.
My Project
Fifth graders love small group instruction! This year I am going to be teaching 5th graders. This is my favorite grade because 5th graders are students that I can connect with and create relationships with. Relationships are best built during small group instruction.
There have been studies that prove students who attend school in urban communities learn the most effectively in small groups with a teacher.
Small group instruction improves reading and comprehension with the use of differentiation strategies. I am going to implement small group instruction this year with my students.
Teaching small groups can be difficult without a table that allows me to face the students in comfortable seating. This table will help me become the best teacher I can be for my 5th graders and give them the individualized attention that they deserve.
