My Project

Many of my students have been impacted by COVID-19 in many ways. Most of my students were not able to attend preschool and because of this, need more skill-based small-group instruction. Currently, students work at my teacher table throughout the day.

Unfortunately, our classroom does not have enough chairs for students to have a chair at their desks and for me to have enough chairs at my teacher table.

This prevents students from quickly and quietly transitioning from one area to another. I also do not have a good-quality chair to sit in while I deliver instruction to my students. All of the materials requested will benefit my students in small-group, skill-based instruction in all content areas we learn in our classroom. We do not have a place to store materials and work for quick access when we are working at the teacher table. Students also use whiteboards throughout our day in all content areas but many of our whiteboards are not in good condition and are in desperate need of replacement. Since COVID-19 has prevented many of my students from attending preschool, they have not developed the appropriate skills needed for social and emotional behavior in the kindergarten classroom. Many of the materials requested will help my students learn valuable skills to regulate their social and emotional needs in the classroom. As our schools recuperate from COVID-19 it is extremely important that my students have access to high-quality materials to help them be successful throughout their school years.
