Help me give my students a more comprehensive experience with coding using Dash robots, challenge cards, and STEM accessories from Wonder Workshop while working in small groups to increase student engagement, collaboration, and cooperation through technology.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students use American Sign Language as their primary language. Few students have full access to full communication at home, meaning that their time at school is crucial. We have the challenge and responsibility of connecting students and parents who do not necessarily use the same language. With many families that are use Spanish at home, some don't write in the same language.
My students are fourth and fifth graders at a Title I school in East LA.
They are bused in up to two hours to our school from all over LA in order to provide full support and access in our "Total Communication" program.
My students need structured tasks for working with Dash robots and a variety of STEM accessories for differentiated learning in small groups to scaffold our ability to teach and support development of critical 21st century skills with technology and coding.
My Project
We've started with the Dash and Dot robots in my classroom with a high level of student participation. We've noticed that the large groups make it difficult for all students to participate in collaboratively and students start to disengage. Reducing the size of the groups will scaffold the wide range of students in my classroom and support the group work that we know this technology inspires.
My students are strong visual learners and gain a deeper level of understanding from the bright details on the challenge card packs.
They will benefit from the additional supports provided on the structured, sequential lessons that build on previous skills as they continue to learn and explore.
The addition of the STEM creativity bundles allow us to explore new layers of activities and skills that push our students further into their learning of 21st century skills and provide greater exposure to a field that needs a higher representation of Deaf individuals.
